Sick Leave Entitlement in Hungary

15 days p/a @ 70% of salary - paid by employer.    

After 15 days: Statutory sick pay (50-60% covered by the state but most employers offer to top up of this amount)

Parental Leave in Hungary

Maternity: 24 weeks maternity leave paid at 70% salary by NEAK (The benefit is called: "CSED"). Paternity: 10 days paid leave. Parental: fathers and mothers individually have 44 working days of parental leave until child is 3 years old, provided that they have 1 continuous year of employment with the employer.

Annual Leave Entitlement in Hungary

Min. paid annual leave is 20 working days (+PH). Amount increases based on age of employee from 20-30 days.

Severance Pay Entitlement in Hungary

The employee is entitled to severance pay if they are terminated ordinarily. The amount of severance pay is 1- 6 months absence fee depending on the length of the employment served.

Termination in Hungary

Termination can be without cause or reason during the probation period. Otherwise, termination must always be with cause and with contractual notice. Min. notice period is 30 days and max. is 6 months (statutory notice requirements increase with years of service). Termination without notice possible for wilful/gross negligence.
